Fairview Park in Decatur is one of my favorite spots in the city! Beyond the playground, the park is beautifully maintained with paved trails around the scenic duck pond (Dreamland Lake), a dog park, skate park, refurbished tennis courts, multiple pavilions with bathrooms, and shaded green spaces ideal for biking, picnics, family gatherings, or quiet walks. It always feels safe, clean, and welcoming, making it perfect for everything from morning exercise to birthday parties. Huge thanks to the Decatur Park District for creating such an outstanding community treasure!

Lovely park. Lot's of hiking, biking and more can be done here. Beautiful pond in the middle of this park. Lot's of Pavilions to use. Use to have a public pool but with the new water park in town the park district decided to close and tare down this pool which is a shame. It may of needed some work but I felt this pool would have been used and used a lot.

There are few things more revitalizing than time spent out-of-doors and to see so many other people doing the same just seemed to put me in a good mood. There were kids in the skate park, dogs (and owners) in the dog park, people gathered around picnic shelters, a party being set up under the pavilion (it always impresses me to see the size of that thing!), a young family checking out the ducks around Dreamland Pond, and numerous people of all ages just seemingly enjoying a walk thru the park. Best of all, despite all of this activity, this park is spacious enough that at no time did it feel even remotely crowded! This park has got to be an absolutely amazing asset in this community!

I love this park! I've been coming here since the mid 90's, just driving through has a calming effect. I used to fish the little pond and I ways catch and release, it was fun but then they made it just for kids. I still took mine but I stopped fishing there. From there we moved down to the river by the old dam, they tore that out so I moved to the lake.
